  T1

Although relatively expensive, the performace and reliability of a T1 line for businesses with many users make it a worthwhile investment.  T1 services bring either a fiber optic or copper line directly to your office that is capable of transferring data at rates over 60 times faster than a dial-up modem, or carrying 24 digitized voice channels.

  ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network)
Originally called the "next generation" telephone system, ISDN combines voice and data transfer into one connection, and runs on existing copper telephone lines.  Basic ISDN data connections consist of two independent channels of 64Kbps each, which can be combined to one effective connection of 128Kbps.  ISDN is the ideal solution for small businesses or remote workers with needs to accommodate multiple businesses services: telephony, fax, email and Internet.
  Dial-up Service

Dialup is the traditional internet connection, using an existing telephone line connected to a modem attached to your computer to provide Internet access.  The modem performs a conversion of the outgoing data to analog form, allowing it to be transferred over analog telephone lines.  When the modem receives incoming data, it does the reverse conversion, from analog to digital form in order for the computer to process it.  Dial-up connections are the slowest type of internet connection available, and are usually suitable for basic home, small office and traveling business users.
